Job description

A dynamic manufacturing business is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to lead engineering strategies, automation projects, and technology upgrades across its operational facilities. This is a high-impact role for a mechatronics professional who thrives in innovation, cross-functional collaboration, and leadership of engineering teams.

Qualifications

BEng Mechatronics (or equivalent)
7+ years of experience in automation engineering within high-tech manufacturing
Strong grasp of mechatronic, electronic, and mechanical system design
Advantageous : Experience in the mining or electronic initiation industry

Responsibilities

Lead automation upgrades, equipment redesign, and capacity planning

Oversee new automation initiatives from concept through commissioning

Collaborate with R&D and production to align systems with future product development

Standardize automation practices (software, documentation, commissioning)

Mentor engineering teams and drive continuous improvement

Provide support for legacy systems and external automation suppliers
