Our client is looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Head of IT and Digitalisation to lead their technology strategy, drive digital transformation, and ensure the smooth operation of all IT systems across the business.
This is a key leadership role for someone who can combine strategic vision with hands-on technical expertise — guiding teams, streamlining digital processes, and aligning technology initiatives with business goals.
Key Responsibilities
ERP & Core Systems
- Oversee the rebuild company proprietary order management platform
 - Lead : a group-wide ERP implementation across all global regions
 - Modernize company systems for scalability, performance, and cost efficiency
 - Ensure data integrity, integration, and real-time visibility across all functions
 
Business Intelligence & Data
Establish group-wide data structures, reporting standards, and controlsAdvance BI maturity to enable faster, smarter decision-makingDeploy Power BI, Qlik, or equivalent platforms across regions and functionsDrive transparency and accountability through performance dataAutomation & Digital Execution
Identify and eliminate manual processes across admin, operations, and financeImplement workflow automation and system integrations to improve turnaround timesPartner with operations and service leaders to deliver measurable cost and service gainsEnsure all solutions are scalable, secure, and embedded in business processesAI Strategy
Lead education and upskilling around AI adoption across the groupRoll out workplace AI tools to enhance productivity and decision-makingIdentify practical, high-impact AI use cases across sales, manufacturing, and adminPilot and scale AI projects with clear business outcomes and ownershipManufacturing Systems & Lean Support
Embed control, visibility, and workflow discipline to support Lean executionDigitize standard work and continuous improvement practicesProvide real-time plant-level data to reduce variation and wasteSupport quality and operations teams with actionable digital toolsInfrastructure, Security & Governance
Ensure best-in-class IT infrastructure and global cybersecurityStrengthen system reliability, disaster recovery, and data protectionEstablish robust systems architecture and governance across all regionsTeam Leadership & Influence
Build and lead a high-performing IT and development team in Cape TownInfluence and align cross-functional teams globally, often without direct authorityEstablish a collaborative, delivery-focused culture with clear ownershipDrive a product mindset in software development and automationMinimum Requirements
10+ years in senior IT leadership roles within manufacturingProven ERP / MRP delivery in complex, multi-entity environmentsBI platform expertise (Power BI, Qlik, or equivalent)Demonstrated success withautomation in operations or admin functionsExperience leadinginternal software development teamsTrack record in multinational groups, including Asian operationsStrong understanding of systems architecture, security, and data governanceWhy This Opportunity Stands Out
