Job description

Requirements :

  • Must have completed a Trade Test or relevant artisan qualification.
  • Qualified Red Seal Artisan.
  • Must be a fitter (not negotiable)
  • Experienced in welding of stainless steel, mild steel, and alloy steel will be advantageous but not essential.
  • Have at least 5 post-qualifying years of experience in a production environment / maintenance environment.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Have your own car
  • Be available for callouts after hours.

Responsibilities :

  • Conducting and coordinating all maintenance on machinery and equipment in the departments.
  • Completing maintenance checks and programs for each machine as per schedule.
  • Building an inventory of spares for the machines and controlling spares usage and costs.
  • Properly maintaining maintenance records as per requirement.
  • Identification and achievement of measurable technical and process developments and improvements.
  • Attending to breakdowns.
  • Ordering of necessary equipment and tools when necessary.
  • Attending relevant meetings i.e. Production Meetings, etc where necessary.
  • Assist production in achieving optimum efficiencies.
  • Fault identification, fixing of root cause analysis, and ensuring the accurate completion of production logs and job cards.
  • Advising on and implementing technical and cost-effective improvements where appropriate.
  • Ensuring a safe working environment by adhering to safety procedures.
  • Ensuring that the maintenance work is performed in terms of agreed expectations, timelines, and company standards.
  • Coach, mentor, and train apprentices as may be required.
  • An ability to interact with employees at different levels.
  • Collaborator with a strong focus on integrity, honesty, and willingness to assist at different sites.
  • Able to perform duties in line with maintenance program and continuous improvements.
  • Identify and solve problems effectively.
  • A logical, systematic approach with the ability to do minor electronic fault-finding will be advantageous.
  • A passion for the quality of work performed.
  • Good communication skills.
  • A willingness to work overtime when necessary.

    • Salary : R25 000 - 30 000 CTC
