Forklift Driver operates a forklift to safely move, stack, and count stock in the warehouse or yard. The driver must follow all safety regulations set by South African law and company policy.
Requirements
- Grade 10 / Matric (Grade 12 is better).
- Valid Forklift Operator Certificate from an accredited training provider, according to Driven Machinery Regulations under the OHSA.
- 2-3 years of experience as a forklift operator.
- Ability to read and understand safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures.
- Physically fit and able to do manual work.
- Clear criminal record.
- Willing to work shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed.
Responsibilities
Safely and efficiently operate the forklift.Load, unload, move, stack, and stage products and materials using the forklift or other equipment.Check the equipment before and after use to make sure it works well.Report any problems or maintenance needs to the supervisor.Handle and store goods properly to avoid damage.Keep the work area clean, safe, and organized.Follow safety standards and procedures according to the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).Help with inventory checks and cycle counts as needed.Fill out the necessary documents for stock movement and delivery.Follow the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 85 of 1993, and related regulations.Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
