Job description

Forklift Driver operates a forklift to safely move, stack, and count stock in the warehouse or yard. The driver must follow all safety regulations set by South African law and company policy.

Requirements

  • Grade 10 / Matric (Grade 12 is better).
  • Valid Forklift Operator Certificate from an accredited training provider, according to Driven Machinery Regulations under the OHSA.
  • 2-3 years of experience as a forklift operator.
  • Ability to read and understand safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures.
  • Physically fit and able to do manual work.
  • Clear criminal record.
  • Willing to work shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently operate the forklift.
  • Load, unload, move, stack, and stage products and materials using the forklift or other equipment.
  • Check the equipment before and after use to make sure it works well.
  • Report any problems or maintenance needs to the supervisor.
  • Handle and store goods properly to avoid damage.
  • Keep the work area clean, safe, and organized.
  • Follow safety standards and procedures according to the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).
  • Help with inventory checks and cycle counts as needed.
  • Fill out the necessary documents for stock movement and delivery.
  • Follow the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 85 of 1993, and related regulations.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
