About the Role: We are seeking an experienced backend Programmer to own scoped technical work with minimal oversight. This is not a junior train-up role. We need a specialist-level engineer who can take a defined problem deliver clean solutions and communicate progress clearly. You will work on backend development integrations performance improvements and system reliability. You should be comfortable making decisions writing production-ready code and collaborating with stakeholders without needing heavy hand-holding.

Key Responsibilities

• Backend Development: Build maintain and improve backend services APIs and core logic.
• Scoped Ownership: Take ownership of defined technical workstreams from estimation through delivery including edge cases and testing.
• Code Quality: Write clean maintainable code with strong attention to reliability readability and security.
• Integrations: Implement and maintain integrations with third-party services internal systems or data sources.
• Debugging and Performance: Diagnose issues optimize performance and improve system stability.
• Documentation: Produce clear technical documentation handover notes and implementation details for internal visibility.
• Collaboration: Partner with product CX or operations teams to translate requirements into workable technical solutions.

Qualifications & Skills

Hard Skills:

• Backend Expertise: Several years of professional backend engineering experience.
• API Design: Strong experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs (and/or GraphQL if relevant).
• Databases: Strong understanding of database design and performance (SQL and/or NoSQL depending on environment).
• Testing and Deployment: Experience with testing practices CI/CD and production releases.
• Security Awareness: Familiar with secure coding practices data handling and common backend vulnerabilities.
• Version Control: Strong Git workflows and collaboration practices.

Soft Skills:

• Independent Execution: Comfortable working with minimal oversight while keeping stakeholders updated.
• Clear Communication: Can explain technical decisions in plain language and provide realistic timelines.
• Problem Solving: Strong debugging mindset and ability to handle messy real-world systems.
• Ownership: Reliable follow-through proactive risk flagging and pride in delivering solid work.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS GCP or Azure)
• Experience with observability tools (logging monitoring alerting)
