Afrikaans Admitted Attorney (Litigation / commercial / corporate and family law), Mbombela, RNeg

  • LLB or equivalent law degree from a recognized South African university.
  • Admitted as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
  • 2–3 years post-admission experience, preferably in litigation, commercial, corporate, and family law.
  • Afrikaans Home Language
  • Experience drafting court documents, contracts, and agreements.
  • Knowledge of South African corporate, commercial, and family law legislation .

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of professionalism, ethics, and confidentiality.
  • Exceptional client management and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, LexisNexis, Juta).
  • Litigation :

  • Draft and review pleadings, affidavits, notices, and other court documents.
  • Prepare and manage case files for hearings and trials.
  • Represent clients in court, including motion proceedings, trials, and urgent applications.
  • Liaise with counsel, clients, and opposing attorneys.
  • Advise clients on litigation strategy and potential risks.
  • Commercial / Corporate Law :

  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, agreements, and memoranda of understanding.
  • Advise clients on company law, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist in mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring matters.
  • Conduct due diligence and provide reports on commercial transactions.
  • Family Law :

  • Draft and manage agreements, including antenuptial contracts, settlement agreements, and divorce documentation.
  • Represent clients in family law matters such as divorces, maintenance disputes, and custody issues.
  • Provide strategic advice on family-related legal matters.
  • General Responsibilities :

  • Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and professional standards.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client and matter records.
  • Attend client meetings, hearings, and negotiations as required.
  • Assist senior attorneys with complex cases and matters.
  • Keep abreast of legal developments in relevant areas of law.
