We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Local Site Manager to take the lead on an exciting high‑end luxury villa construction project in Cape Town (relocation needed if not already living there). In this role, you will be at the heart of transforming designs into reality. Your mission is to ensure the successful delivery of a luxury villa that fulfills our client’s expectations and high standards and within time and cost constraints.
Key Role Outcomes
- Ensure that project plans and specifications are followed on‑site
- Monitor construction work to ensure it meets quality standards and complies with relevant codes and regulations
- Ensure construction cost and schedule compliance
- Conduct safety inspections and report any potential hazards
- Communicate project status and issues to the Head of Construction and stakeholders
- Propose solutions and make recommendations to keep the project on track
- Serve as a liaison between the office and the construction site
- Strive to meet or exceed client expectations for project quality and performance
- High level of seniority to deputize for the Head of Construction when required, and travel to the Middle East and Africa to oversee construction progress of other sites if needed

Site Mastery : Oversees all on‑site activities, ensuring strict adherence to local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standardsStrategic Planning : Collaborates closely with the project manager and Head of Construction to execute all construction plans, involving meticulous scheduling, resource allocation, and strategic procurement of materialsQuality Excellence : Maintains unwavering commitment to quality control, scrutinizing all work to ensure it mirrors the intricacy of architectural designs and consistently meets luxury standardsBudget Stewardship : Demonstrates financial acumen by managing project expenses while adhering to the approved budget and seeking innovative yet cost‑effective construction methods without compromising qualityTeam Leadership : Coordinates subcontractors, skilled labourers, and on‑site staff for optimal workflow, proactively addressing challenges and fostering a collaborative work environmentThorough Documentation : Keeps meticulous records of daily activities, progress reports, and site conditions, providing transparent and accountable reporting and regularly communicating project status updates to managementRequirements
Academic Background :Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or architecture (Required)
Post‑graduate studies in construction management or related fields (Preferred)Professional Experience :Minimum of 10 years in construction site roles (Inspector, project engineer, field engineer, site supervisor, assistant project manager, construction manager, superintendent)
Technical Skills : Proficient in construction software and tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, MS Project and other relevant applicationsLocal Expertise : Demonstrated knowledge of local building codes, regulations and construction practices essential to successful project executionProblem‑Solving Prowess : Provides concrete examples of ability to identify and resolve technical or logistical challenges that may arise during construction projectsBenefits
