SUMMARY : Are you a seasoned VDI & Cloud Operations Specialist with strong expertise in managing complex virtual environments across Hybrid Cloud and High-Performance Computing platforms ? POSITION INFO : Key Responsibilities :

  • Design, implement, and maintain VDI solutions aligned with BMW global guidelines.
  • Own and manage VDI operations and maintenance across hybrid cloud (Private & Public).
  • Collaborate closely with application owners and engineering teams to understand CA / CAE application dependencies and their VDI impact.
  • Drive VDI automation initiatives using Ansible and other automation tools to optimize performance and processes.
  • Develop Ansible playbooks for VDI deployment and application performance enhancement.
  • Monitor, manage, and fine-tune VDI platforms to ensure performance, stability, and cost-efficiency.
  • Define and manage self-service requests in ServiceNow for VDI demands (resizing, provisioning, platform switches).
  • Lead efforts around cloud migration (public and private) for CAE / CAD applications and their dependencies.
  • Handle Problem, Incident, and Change Management processes for dedicated ITSM services.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation across CMDB, Application Instance Wizards, and knowledge bases.
  • Act as technical lead during audits, ensuring compliance with security, performance, and ITIL processes.
  • Support weekend changes when required and participate in global operations meetings.

Essential Skills & Experience :

  • Strong experience with Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket / GitHub
  • Expertise in Unix / Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu) and Windows operating systems
  • Hands-on experience with Autofs, DFS, NFS, CIFS
  • Proven background in CAD & CAE environments
  • Knowledge of VMware Horizon, ESXi, Cloud Foundation
  • Experience with Azure Public Cloud and cloud migration technologies
  • Strong stakeholder management and ability to navigate architectural technical discussions
  • Familiarity with the Agile Working Model (AWM) and working within Agile teams

    • Advantageous Skills :

  • ServiceNow ITSM Suite knowledge
  • Experience in Automation and AI processes
  • Experience in DevOps teams (agile steering)
  • Deep knowledge of VDI platform migrations
  • Strong understanding of High Performance Computing in VDI setups
  • Knowledge of storage solutions (emc2, NetApp)
  • Experience with Ansible Tower and advanced playbook design
  • Hands-on Public & Private Cloud experience (Azure, AWS)
  • Understanding of data security, privacy, and compliance
  • Familiarity with BMW-specific tools (DIVA, iStore, ADGR)
  • Scripting and programming (Java, Python, Perl)

    • Qualifications :

  • Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
  • ITIL certification (preferred)
  • Scrum Master / Agile certification (advantageous)
  • Relevant Storage or Operating System certifications highly beneficial
  • Minimum 4 years in IT Operations with strong ITIL background
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in storage management
  • Minimum 4 years of hands-on work with VDI and operating systems
  • Minimum 4 years of experience working within Agile / Scrum environments
