We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Corporate Chef for our staff canteen in Bramley Park. This position is ideal for a chef who is eager to learn, grow, and develop their skills in a professional kitchen environment.
About the Position
- Service : Staff canteen serving 60–70 people daily with one meal service (a protein dish, two vegetables, salad, and fruit)
- Style of Food : Above standard canteen meals – quality, consistency, and detail are essential. We prepare many items in-house (stocks, sauces) and use advanced techniques (such as sous-vide). We do not do fine dining plating.
- Hours : Monday to Friday, 07 : 00–16 : 00
- Occasional Functions : Saturday or evening service approximately once every 3 months
- Salary : Market-related
- Responsibilities :
- Independently manage kitchen operations
- Cooking and plating of meals
- Cleaning and maintaining hygiene standards
- Handling purchases and stock control
- Performing regular stock takes and monitoring usage
- Collaborating with the facilities team when needed
Requirements & Qualifications
NQF Level 5 Occupational Certificate : Chef (or working towards completion)Must have a valid driver’s licence and be able to driveKnowledge of modern cooking techniques (e.g. sous-vide) and openness to using technology in the kitchenUnderstanding of HACCP food safety standards and kitchen hygiene practicesStrong foundation in culinary basics : stocks, sauces, butchery, and basic pastryInterest in the financial side of food (cost awareness, budgeting, and food waste reduction)Hunger to learn and grow as a chefStrong attention to detailAbility to work independently and as part of a small teamReliability and professionalismRecruitment Process
