Family-founded business with interests in retail and commercial property investment is are seeking an experienced and reliable Senior Accounts & Administration Officer to oversee our accounting functions and provide leadership in day-to-day administration. The successful candidate will manage financial reporting, ensure compliance, internal audit investigations, streamline administrative operations, and support management with data-driven insights and control.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Finance
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and reports.
- Oversee monthly reconciliations, journal entries, and trial balances.
- Process supplier invoices, payments, and manage cash flow.
- Handle VAT, PAYE, and statutory returns.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Liaise with external auditors, banks, and tax consultants.
Administration & Operations
Supervise and support administrative staff.Ensure smooth running of office operations and internal communication.Manage contracts, insurance policies, and company documentation.Support HR functions such as payroll processing, leave management, and staff records.Oversee procurement and supplier relationships.Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Accounting / Finance / Business Administration.Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role.Strong working knowledge of Pastel / Sage / QuickBooks / MDA or similar systems.Excellent Excel and reporting skills.Good understanding of SARS and labour compliance.High level of accuracy, confidentiality, and organisational ability.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.Preferred Attributes
