HCT / RESEARCH COUNSELLOR – GUGULETHU CHC AND TYGERBERG HOSPITAL
The Desmond Tutu Health Foundation (DTHF) is a registered non-profit organization focused on the pursuit of excellence in research, treatment, training and prevention of HIV and related infections in Southern Africa.
Position
HCT / RESEARCH COUNSELLOR
Twenty-one (21) months fixed-term contract
Gugulethu CHC and Tygerberg Hospital
Responsibilities
- Conduct in-clinic research activities for the Universal Test and Connect (UTC) Study, ensuring effective participant recruitment, engagement and high-quality data collection.
- Identify, approach, consent, and enroll participants during facility visits.
- Administer study questionnaires and collate medical records (both paper and electronic) for research purposes.
- Support protocol adherence and participant retention, assisting study execution under the research nurse at the Gugulethu site, with future expansion to Tygerberg in 2026.
