Job description

Join a dynamic engineering team driving innovation. As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you'll work alongside cross-functional teams to build and scale a mission-critical internal data platform. Your expertise in cloud automation, infrastructure as code, and DevOps tooling will help enable robust, secure, and high-performing services within a highly agile environment using the SAFe framework.

What you'll do :

  • Design, deploy maintain cloud infrastructure using Microsoft Azure.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning using PowerShell, YAML, Azure Bicep, and ARM templates.
  • Implement CI / CD pipelines using Azure DevOps for continuous delivery of reliable services.
  • Conduct security assessments, manage vulnerabilities, and apply mitigation strategies.
  • Develop infrastructure tools libraries in Python / PySpark to support Databricks environments.
  • Collaborate with developers, solution architects, and product owners to deliver sprint-level objectives.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for infrastructure components and platform features.
  • Participate in SAFe PI Planning, contributing to sprint estimations, task breakdowns, and delivery milestones.

Your Expertise :

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Azure Cloud infrastructure.
  • Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using PowerShell, YAML, and Azure Bicep.
  • CI / CD pipeline development using Azure DevOps.
  • Strong understanding of networking, security, and identity management in cloud environments.
  • Experience with GitHub for source control and version management.
  • Experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, ETL pipeline development, and Data Engineering.
  • Exposure to Linux OS and general scripting (Bash, Python).
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies, especially SAFe.
  • Proven ability to conduct code reviews and enforce development standards.

    • Qualification

  • Minimum NQF 7 qualification : BSc / BCom / BTech in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Must qualify for a valid South African work visa if not a South African citizen

  • Deliver infrastructure tasks as part of 8-week Program Increments (PIs), broken down into 2-week sprints.
  • Produce high-quality code with sufficient test evidence and documentation that passes architecture reviews.
  • Demonstrate proactive problem-solving—escalate blockers, collaborate effectively, and contribute to team delivery.
