Our client in the healthcare industry is seeking a Theatre Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will lead and coordinate the theatre complex in line with critical protocols and the company's strategic objectives.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Post-basic theatre qualification or diploma
- Current registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse
- 5+ years of relevant theatre experience in a managerial capacity
- A relevant management qualification is an advantage
- Effective clinical leadership skills
- Computer literacy
Job Responsibilities
Manage stock effectively by reviewing inventory control reports and maintaining stock levelsImplement formulary changes, product conversions, and improvement initiativesCommunicate with theatre staff and doctors to ensure formulary complianceRestrict supplier access into theatre, ensuring procedures are followedOptimize theatre utilization through effective schedulingReduce overtime by updating shift schedules and call listsProvide strong leadership and support change initiativesDevelop staffing plans with the nursing team to recruit qualified staffInspire positive work behavior and provide direction in theatreCreate learning opportunities aligned with staff career goals and succession planningManage performance through regular reviews and reward top performersEnsure accurate processing of employee compensation and benefitsMaintain sound employee relations and compliance with IR policiesPromote employee wellness and work-life balanceBuild effective relationships with doctors, addressing their needs promptlyEnsure quality systems are maintained, focusing on patient safety and ISO complianceParticipate in clinical, operational, and risk management meetingsContribute to budgeting and Capex planningKey Competencies / Skills
