Stable and established client of mine is seeking a National Credit Manager.

POSITION INFO :

Stable and established client of mine is seeking a National Credit Manager. They are an African specialist and global supplier of their product and they have a strong team drive.

What you will be doing :

Credit Risk Management

  • Control opening of new customer accounts
  • Assess creditworthiness of new applications
  • Recommend and implement credit limits
  • Review and apply credit policies
  • Conduct periodic credit reviews
  • Monitor account statuses continuously

    • Credit Control Operations

  • Authorise journal entries submitted by credit controllers
  • Review account reconciliations regularly
  • Enforce supply restrictions for overdue accounts
  • Visit key / problematic accounts to resolve issues
  • Liaise with customers and regional teams to collect overdue payments
  • Accompany sales reps and managers on client visits

    • Collections & Legal

  • Manage handovers to legal for collections
  • Handle legal correspondence for liquidations and bad debts
  • Work to minimise bad debt exposure
  • Submit bad debt provision and year-end write-off list to Financial

    • What we are looking for :

  • Proven experience in credit management
  • Strong understanding of credit risk principles and collection processes
  • Ability to manage legal processes relating to bad debt
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to enforce policy
  • Experience leading and developing credit control teams
