Citrus Packhouse Manager

Minimum requirements :

• Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification
• Bachelors degree or Diploma in Agriculture, Horticulture, Production Management, or a related field (preferred)
• 10+ years of proven experience in citrus packhouse management, including large-scale operations
• In-depth knowledge of citrus grading, sorting and packing processes
• Strong understanding of export standards and certifications, including GlobalG.A.P., BRC, HACCP, and food safety compliance
• Experience in staff management, including training, labour planning, and performance management of large seasonal teams
• Sound knowledge of packhouse machinery, equipment maintenance, and production flow
• Strong financial and operational management skills, including budgeting, cost control and reporting
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant packhouse or production management systems
• Thorough understanding of health, safety and labour legislation applicable to agricultural operations in South Africa
• Ability to work under pressure, meet export deadlines and maintain high product quality standards
