Job description

Key Performance Areas :

  • Prepare estimates, cost plans, bill of quantities, specifications, and schedules of rates for new builds, improvements, and maintenance work.
  • Prepare preliminary estimates for conceptual projects.
  • Determine key variables for cost and other estimates.
  • Interpret and understand project / program requirements.
  • Gather first-hand information from sites, warehouses, or other venues.
  • Conduct research to obtain data on labour costs, materials, production times, etc.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers.
  • Communicate effectively between different departments on current projects and their requirements.
  • Confirm payments, open job cards, and monitor projects through the various departments.

Non-Negotiable Requirements :

  • National Senior Certificate.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role.
  • Tertiary education Advantageous.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Competency in Microsoft applications.
  • Well-organized and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to read drawings and plans.
  • Valid drivers license.
  • Product knowledge in laser cutting, structural steel, and metal work Advantageous.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
