Site Controller

Our client based in the Eastern Cape is looking for a Site Controller, with relevant experience within the logistics environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

Operational

  • Ensure that all Standard Operating Procedures are known, understood, documented, in place, managed, maintained, and enforced.
  • Understand and know how to make use of the various systems in the business.
  • Keep all filing and administration up to date.
  • Monitor the processes of scanning, manifesting, and authorising various In-house documents and dispatching of freight.
  • Ensure the effective utilisation and optimisation of vehicles and correct loading of vehicles.
  • Ensure vehicles are planned and ordered according to specific requirements and communicated to relevant parties.
  • Ensure all freight is correctly processed as per statuses.
  • Rectify any discrepancies from the receiving branch within the allocated time frame.
  • Order stationery timeously and ensure adequate quantities are ordered.
  • Report any variances.
  • Keep an awareness of operational difficulties and advise all parties accordingly.
  • Ensure quality reports conform to the requirements of the customer.
  • Evaluate and follow up on service levels with Manager and Customer Relations Manager.
  • Liaise with various departments within the group regarding contract operations.
  • Ensure KPIs are of the correct criteria.
  • Inform the customer immediately if there are any delivery delays.
  • Handle and document all queries and customer complaints.
  • Monitor and compile daily and monthly reports (Health and Safety; Operational).
  • Act on all non-deliveries regarding NDD’s and ensure out on delivery with Hub staff.
  • Manage and control RLOG returns and collections and ensure quality proof of delivery returned to RLOG.

Staff

  • Manage leave, time, and attendance of all staff. Report on all Absenteeism to Management.
  • Drive skills development of staff through training and other initiatives as regularly as required and keep signed records on file. Advise Manager of potential staff.
  • Quality, Health and Safety and KPI’s

  • Ensure that customer KPIs are known, understood, measured, managed, maintained, and reported on monthly.
  • Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • Degree / diploma in supply chain / logistics field beneficial.
  • 3 years of relevant experience within the logistics environment.
  • Skills Required

  • Administrative capabilities.
  • Ability to identify and solve discrepancies in terms of stock condition and quantity.
