About Xudumela Conservancy
Xudumela is a 3000-hectare integrated conservancy located on the edge of the Okavango Delta, offering 10 km of river frontage, pristine wilderness, and exceptional game-viewing.
The conservancy is being developed into a premier eco-tourism destination combining wildlife, conservation, and community engagement.
The conservancy features large old-growth trees, rich floodplain ecosystems, and abundant wildlife. It lies just 2 km from the Buffalo Fence and is one of the most unique properties in the Delta.
The Role : Conservancy & Lodge Manager
We are seeking a dynamic, hands‑on Manager to lead the operations of the Xudumela Conservancy and its developing lodge and activity base. This multifaceted position requires strong leadership, a deep connection to the wilderness, and the ability to manage both people and projects with efficiency and passion.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily lodge and conservancy operations, including guiding, logistics, and hospitality.
- Manage and mentor a diverse staff team, fostering professionalism and community engagement.
- Coordinate guest experiences ensuring each stay reflects the essence of the Okavango.
- Work closely with the guiding team to uphold exceptional wildlife and conservation standards.
- Liaise with owners, conservation partners, and tourism stakeholders to implement strategic plans.
- Oversee maintenance, infrastructure, and land management activities across the conservancy.
- Manage budgets, stock control, and operational reporting.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experienced in safari lodge or conservancy management (Botswana or wider Southern Africa).Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with a passion for developing teams.Knowledge of conservation management, guiding standards, and guest operations.Organised, proactive, and comfortable working in a remote wilderness environment.Valid driver’s license and preferably a professional guiding or management qualification.What We Offer
