Job description
The potential candidate will be responsible for the financial management of the finance department.
The individual is expected to work closely with the Accountants responsible for the accounting function and assist with any accounting issues as well as reviewing the monthly processing.
Minimum Requirements
- Relevant Accounting Degree (BCom or BAcc)
- CA (SA) Qualified
- Minimum 2 years post articles experience (Financial Services / Short Term Insurance Industry advantageous)
- Strong MS Excel skills
- Experience in accounting packages such as Great Plains, SAP, Accpac (Advantageous)

Review of reconciliationsReview of monthly accounting processingCompiling of management reports and analysisCashflow and investments management and approving of payments and collectionsAssist with budgeting and forecastingEnsuring all control accounts, balance sheets and income statements are reconciled on a monthly basisVAT and Income tax calculations and returnsStatutory and regulatory returns (FSCA, Prudential Authority, Reserve Bank, SARS, NAMFISA)Compilation of the annual financial statements in terms of IFRSAssist Regional Managers with financial informationLiaising and assisting with internal and external auditorsResolving reconciling and long outstanding items on balance sheet reconciliationsSystems, processes and internal control improvementsAssist with ad hoc queries until resolutionJob Types : Full-time, Permanent
