Position Overview
The IR Practitioner is a senior‑level industrial relations professional responsible for overseeing all IR Officers and serving as the organisation's primary representative at the CCMA. This strategic role combines operational oversight with expert‑level dispute resolution, ensuring comprehensive industrial relations management while protecting the organisation's interests in formal proceedings and complex labour matters.
Key Responsibilities
Required Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Relations, Human Resources, Labour Law, or a related field (preferred). Minimum 5-7 years’ proven experience in Industrial Relations. Strong knowledge of collective bargaining, compliance audits, grievance handling, and disciplinary procedures.
Technical Skills
In-depth understanding of South African labour legislation. Skilled in negotiation, mediation, arbitration, and dispute resolution. Proficient in managing case files, IR systems, and documentation protocols.
Core Competencies
Leadership, strong interpersonal skills, problem‑solving abilities, emotional intelligence, and effective time management.
Working Conditions
Full‑time position with flexibility for extended hours. Regular travel and exposure to high‑pressure situations requiring confidentiality and diplomacy.
