Role Purpose

To be involved in all analytics-related aspects of the management of a short-term insurer, including performance remuneration, product development, experience monitoring, process optimization, and other ad-hoc projects. This broad technical role requires a passion for data science.

The role will focus on accountability for key BAU processes but will mainly involve ad-hoc projects across various areas of a short-term insurer. It is ideal for a candidate with exceptional analytical and data science skills seeking to explore and grow their skills in the insurance sector.

Requirements

  • Degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Business Sciences, Business Mathematics, or other relevant postgraduate qualifications with a statistical / modelling focus.
  • Actuarial candidates should have passed all CT’s and CA1.
  • At least 2 years of experience in statistical modelling or an analytical role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, SQL.
  • Experience with modelling software such as R and Python.
  • Experience in the short-term insurance industry is advantageous.

  • Data collection, verification, and management.
  • Extract insights and recommend actions through statistical modelling and data analysis.
  • Design and develop analytical solutions to meet business needs.
  • Report on analyses, models, and solutions developed.
  • Maintain an energetic approach and a strong sense of urgency.
  • Demonstrate self-discipline and motivation.
  • Show enthusiasm and passion for the job and company.
  • Communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally.
  • Apply exceptional analytical and technical skills, with an interest in machine learning.
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
