Overview

Responsibilities

Development of new database-driven web applications and web services
Development of modifications and add-on modules to existing PHP applications
Troubleshooting of PHP applications
Strong understanding of MySQL, databases, SQL queries and query optimisation
Think laterally to find feasible and secure solutions under pressure
Deliver exceptional quality of output with attention to detail
Adhere to best practices and standards
Self-starter who enjoys leading edge technology
Ability to contribute meaningfully and work efficiently solo or in a team
Resourceful with the ability to find elegant solutions in dynamic environments
Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Detail-oriented and motivated, capable of working without supervision

Required Skills / Experience

Min of 3 years : Linux, Apache, MySQL administration

Min of 4 years : PHP application development in a LAMP environment

Min of 4 years : HTML & JavaScript

Min of 2 years : Web Services development using SOAP, JSON and XML

Min of 1 year : jQuery and / or MooTools and / or YUI

Excellent organisational and analytical skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Additional Factors

Proficiency in C / C++, Asterisk, AGI, VoIP systems

Experience with MVC Frameworks (Laravel / Symfony / Zend)

B.Sc. in Computer Science or related field preferred

Experience in Telecommunications

Being a South African Citizen
