Lead Engineer – Water and Sanitation

An industry-leading consulting engineering firm is seeking a Lead Engineer to drive excellence in design, project delivery, and client engagement within their Water & Sanitation Division. If you're a registered Professional Engineer or Technologist with a strong background in bulk water systems, wastewater treatment, and infrastructure project management — this is your opportunity to make a difference.

What you will be doing :

Lead and manage multidisciplinary project teams through planning, design, tendering, implementation, and close-out of water and sanitation projects.

Conduct feasibility studies, preliminary and detailed designs for water and sewer systems, pump stations, and reservoirs.

Prepare business plans and submissions for funding (e.g., DWS, MIG).

Liaise with clients and stakeholders, ensuring excellent project delivery and communication.

Produce and review tender documentation, specifications, and contract documents (FIDIC, NEC, JBCC, GCC).

Mentor junior engineers and contribute to ongoing professional development within the team.

Oversee project administration, financial performance, and compliance with ISO9001 : 2015 and internal project management systems.

• ? What You Bring :

BSc / BEng / BTech / Advanced Diploma in Civil Engineering with Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng registration .

10+ years of consulting engineering experience, with solid leadership and HR management exposure.

Experience in the design and management of bulk water, sanitation infrastructure, and treatment works.

Strong proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, Civil 3D, and other design software.

Excellent communication, leadership, and client-facing skills.

A detail-oriented, deadline-driven mindset with a collaborative approach.

A Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.

Experience with water reuse and reclamation design.

Willingness to travel locally and across Africa for project delivery.
