We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer with strong expertise in UAV platforms to join our growing aerospace engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, integration, testing, and optimisation of complex unmanned aircraft systems. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver cutting-edge UAV solutions for defence, commercial, and industrial applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead system-level design, architecture definition, and requirements development for UAV platforms
- Integrate avionics, propulsion, communications, sensors, and payload subsystems
- Conduct system modelling, performance analysis, and risk assessments
- Oversee hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), ground testing, and flight test campaigns
- Support certification, documentation, and compliance activities
- Troubleshoot and resolve system-level issues throughout the product lifecycle
- Collaborate closely with software, mechanical, electrical, and flight operations teams
Required Qualifications
Bachelors or Masters in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fieldProven experience working with UAV systems or other aerospace platformsStrong understanding of systems engineering methodologies (e.g., MBSE, V-Model)Experience with integration of avionics, sensors, RF systems, autopilots, and communication linksProficiency in tools such as MATLAB / Simulink, DOORS, or SysMLKnowledge of airworthiness standards (e.g., DO-178C, DO-254, MIL-STD, or relevant civil UAV regulations)
