You’ll join an established and collaborative team of talented developers, contributing to the full development lifecycle of the next generation of UpdraftCentral. This is a crucial role where your deep technical skills will directly influence architectural decisions, coding standards, and the sophisticated development of our product.

If you’re an ambitious and highly competent Web Developer with PHP, JS, JQuery and WordPress experience then keep reading.

You will have the option to choose your own hours up to 40 per week, and you can work remotely from anywhere in the world, we simply ask that you have 4 hours of crossover with UK working hours per day.

What you’ll be doing

  • Collaborate with others on our codebase to implement new features, bug fixes and improvements
  • Work in JavaScript, PHP, and WordPress libraries to write clean, efficient and secure code
  • Write inline documentation for your code
  • Test and produce testing guides for your code
  • Manage your own time to fulfil your tasks
  • Research / debug problems on your own or in collaboration with other developers and our support team

Your exact responsibilities will depend on your experience, how this fits with other members of the team and subject to discussion and agreement!

Requirements

You’ll definitely need experience with :

  • JavaScript & JQuery – an essential part of UpdraftCentral
  • PHP – the core language of WordPress and strong skills in this area is essential
  • WordPress plugin development or solutions built around WordPress
  • It would be nice if you also have experience with :

  • GitHub / GitLab / Git – nice to have, but can be learnt quickly by good developers used to alternatives like SVN
  • Prefetching data and optimizing plugin performance
