Requirements

Purpose of the role :

Reporting to the Maintenance Engineer, the incumbent will be responsible for corrective and preventative maintenance of electrical and mechanical installations and equipment. This includes general fitting and maintenance of mechanical components and electrical installations i.e. Pumps, Piping Systems, Bin Tippers, Conveyor Systems, Bottling / Packaging line, Coal Fired Boiler Fruit Sorting Machines, Electrical installations and other equipment associated with the production facility. The position involves the use of hands, power, welding, cutting and grinding tools, and the use of electrical tools and equipment.  The incumbent will have 2 apprentices reporting into them.

Key Responsibilities :

• Must have knowledge of machines, tools and equipment, including their designs, uses, repairs and maintenance.
• Must be able to identify, implement and maintain health and safety procedures in the workplace.
• Must be able to perform pre-work assessments, use correct tolls and equipment to safely carry out tasks.
• Must have experience on fitting of mechanical components as well as their associated maintenance including greasing, monitoring, performing adjustments, cutting, fitting and installation.
• Have better understanding of machinery, conveyor systems, pumps and productions systems and their associated safety systems.
Qualifications :
• Matric
• N3 and above
• Millwright Trade Certificate (Qualification).
