Join Vega School as a Candidate Attorney (Fixed-term Contract) to deliver legal services through the Community Law Clinic based at Varsity College.

Duties and Responsibilities

Manage all matters from consultation until litigation, closure or referral.

Consult with clients and provide legal advice and guidance.

Draft pleadings, correspondences, legal opinions, and court documents.

Research the law and maintain up-to-date knowledge of legal and policy developments.

Attend court appearances and prepare court materials.

Input and index court files and maintain legal records.

Assist supervising Attorney in monitoring students performing integrated learning in the Law Clinic.

Engage with law students and participate in community workshops and advice desks.

Draft registers, reports and marketing posters for advice desks.

Prepare and record client details for advice desks.

Assist with student feedback and correction of tasks.

Attend events hosted by the School of Law and the Law Clinic.

Engage with the Juridical Society.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum of a law degree (LLB or equivalent) from a recognized institution.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday 08 : 00. May be required to work weekends or overtime to attend community workshops and advice desks.

Salary

Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
