Job Description
Ensure staff are trained and competent to perform their jobs, where staff are lacking, ensure timely training is provided.
Ensure that there is an effective management system in the workshop and that the systems are audited at least twice a year for compliance.
Ensure that targets are set and monitored for the various teams.
Ensure that deadlines as per the WIP schedules are monitored and assist to overcome bottlenecks that may arise in a timely manner.
Ensure weekly progress meeting are held with all the relevant stakeholders to discuss amongst others progress on jobs, potential issues which require managements attention, projects and planning for new work.
Regular and timely feedback to senior management on the status of current and future jobs and any other matters that may negatively impact customer service and the mitigation plans.
Evaluating resources, both men and machine to ensure uninterrupted production and down time.
Ensure costs of production are regularly interrogated to ensure costs are kept within control.
Ensure customer promises are met every time, by ensuring adequate stock of inventory and the timely procurement of inventory.
Ensure adequate planning around the collection and delivery of products to clients and 3 rd party vendors. Ensure that there is always adequate stock of replacement / service exchange cylinders

5 10 years experience in an engineering / equipment manufacturing environment
