The Role
Based in the School of Pharmacy you will participate fully in the Schools range of teaching and research activities but with a specific focus on your own area of expertise. You must have experience of teaching mentorship or of supervising undergraduate students or foundation pharmacists. We are interested in people with or without prior experience of working in a school of pharmacy but who have a strong current knowledge of the practice of pharmacy in one or more sectors.
The School of Pharmacy benefits from being an integral part of the Faculty of Medical Sciences with strong teaching and research links to colleagues in medicine biomedical sciences dentistry psychology and chemistry.

Key Accountabilities
To undertake teaching module leadership and supervision of undergraduate students
To offer expertise in an individuals specialist area(s)
To undertake teaching leadership and supervision duties across a range of the School programmes with a focus on work-based learning within the MPharm programme
To develop a programme of research which has long-term potential to attract competitive grant funding
To publish outcomes from high-quality research
To undertake administrative duties as deemed necessary including participation in relevant School and Faculty committees and activities
To participate in external activity related to pharmacy teaching and research
To contribute to the promotion of undergraduate pharmacy programmes to both current and prospective students
To act as a personal tutor to a small group of students concerned with students academic achievements and pastoral care
To contribute to University administration course planning curriculum development the recruitment of students engage in teaching and scholarly activitiesmand module / programme leadership
To participate in relevant staff development activities
To undertake other duties such as participation in School Faculty and University meetings as detailed by the Head of School

Understanding of current themes and issues in the delivery of pharmacy education
Established clinical knowledge and interest in work-based learning
Experience of teaching pharmacy at UG level or of supervising foundation pharmacists
Specialist knowledge and interest in an area relevant to the clinical pharmacy strand of an MPharm programme
Evidence of high-quality research outputs approriate to career stage
Excellent organisational administrative and planng skills

Qualifications
Essential
Registrant of the General Pharmaceutical Council or equivalent registration as a health / public health professional relevant to the MPharm programme.
Desirable
Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy or other equivalent teaching qualification.
