Senior Accountant

Overview

Our client is a leading player in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods sector and is seeking a seasoned Accountant with a proven track record in a fast-paced commercial environment.

This is a key role for a hands‑on finance professional who thrives on structure, precision and operational excellence.

The successful candidate will bring a minimum of 5 years of accounting experience within the FMCG space and possess the technical capability to compile full Management Accounts. Only a completed BCom or BCompt degree from one of the following accredited institutions will be considered for this position : UNISA, UCT, Stellenbosch University, Rhodes, UJ, or University of Pretoria.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and maintain accurate financial records, statements, and reports.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable.
• Perform bank reconciliations.
• Manage the month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
• Maintain the general ledger.
• Ensure correct account allocations and classifications.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and overall financial planning activities.
• Evaluate and enhance financial processes, internal controls, and compliance frameworks.
• Analyse financial data to deliver clear insights and recommendations that support decision‑making.
• Manage intercompany accounts and reconciliations across entities.
• Prepare comprehensive monthly management accounts and performance reports.
