CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT

Bloemfontein and is seeking to employ a junior Chartered Accountant to join their finance team.

This is a new permanent position, and the candidate must be energetic, have explicit attention to detail, a willingness to learn and be hardworking.

POSITION SUMMARY

The candidate will be working under the direction of the Head accountant and coordinate the daily activities of the accounting staff to quickly and accurately record the revenues, expenditures, assets, and liabilities of the Company and other entities.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Analysing trial balance accounts identifying errors and raising journals.
2. Balance sheet and nominal accounts reconciliations.
3. Maintain an organised set of detailed records and files to document financial transactions.
4. Resolves complex accounting issues.
5. Prepare annual financial statements, audit files and ad hoc financial reports.
6. Supervise, direct, and review the work of the accounting staff.
7. Monthly Payroll review, oversight and submission of SARS returns.
8. Monthly VAT review, oversight and submission of SARS returns.
9. COIDA (Workmen’s Compensation Return of Earnings submissions).
10. Calculations and Completion of Provisional and Income Tax Returns, E-filing Administration, submitting supporting documents.
11. Prepare, analysing, interpreting & presenting of management statements.
12. Compiling Budgets and Forecasts.
13. Compiling and monitoring of cash flow.
14. Other Admin or Financial duties as required.

Desired Qualification, Experience & Skills

Qualified Chartered Accountant CA (SA) registered with SAICA– This is Not Negotiable.

Minimum of 1 year post articles experience.

Fluent in English.

Advance Knowledge of Excel Formulas including Pivot Tables etc.

Sound knowledge of Tax regulations.

Sound knowledge of IFRS, IFRS for SME’s, Companies Act and all Accounting Regulations.

High attention to detail with the ability to work accurately under pressure and meeting deadlines.

Ability to work independently, with little supervision.

Ability to effectively direct and supervise.

Ability to analyse financial data and to prepare accurate reports in a timely manner.

Package & Remuneration Package

Salary will be market related
