Inuka is working with a leading infrastructure fund in Africa that has raised over USD 3.9 billion in capital over the past two decades. The firm focuses on investments in key infrastructure sectors across the continent, driving economic growth and sustainable development. They are currently looking to hire an Associate to join their team in Cape Town, South Africa. The Associate will play a key role in transaction execution, financial modeling, and investment analysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project finance, financial modeling, and transaction advisory and will support the origination, structuring, and execution of infrastructure investments across Africa.
Responsibilities
- Develop and interpret complex financial models, including project finance models, platform company models, and fund models, with the use of VBA macros.
- Conduct financial analysis, valuations, and financial statement reviews to assess investment opportunities.
- Prepare bid and transaction documentation as well as investor and internal presentations.
- Support deal origination and transaction execution, including engagement with stakeholders and assisting in structuring investment opportunities.
- Conduct sector research and market analysis to identify trends and emerging opportunities in infrastructure and energy investments.
- Analyse and assess potential financing structures, ensuring optimal risk-return profiles for investment opportunities.
- Assist in the scoping and coordination of due diligence, working with legal, technical, and financial advisors.
- Identify and escalate key transaction dynamics and risks to ensure efficient deal execution.
- Collaborate with senior team members in portfolio management and investment monitoring.
- Engage with investors, lenders, and key stakeholders to support fundraising and capital deployment activities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field with an excellent academic track record.Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in a Big Four firm, Investment Banking (M&A, Corporate Finance, or Project Finance), Financial Advisory, Private Equity, Management Consulting, or Energy sector corporates.Strong proficiency in financial modeling, including advanced Excel skills and VBA macros.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.Strong presentation and slide creation skills, with the ability to synthesise information clearly.Knowledge of infrastructure finance, renewable energy, and emerging markets is an advantage.Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced investment environment.#J-18808-Ljbffr
