Duties and responsibilities could include the following :
Lead and support the end-to-end implementation of IFRS 17
Ensure compliance will all regulatory requirements
Translate complex IFRS 17 technical requirements into practical accounting policies, processes, and systems
Partner with finance, actuarial, risk, and IT teams to design and embed reporting frameworks aligned with IFRS 17
Develop and implement controls, reconciliations, and governance frameworks to ensure accurate and reliable financial reporting under IFRS 17
Drive and monitor project milestones
Ensure deliverables are met on time and to the required quality
Stay ahead of emerging interpretations and industry practices, ensuring the business remains compliant and competitive
Act as the subject matter expert on IFRS 17 in audits, regulatory engagements, and internal reviews
Support the transition to business-as-usual processes post-implementation, ensuring sustainable adoption
Skills & Experience :
Proven experience in implementing IFRS 17 within a financial services environment
Solid track record in project delivery
Ability to manage timelines, stakeholders and deliveries in complex environments
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Exposure to financial systems and tools used in IFRS 17 implementation
Exceptional ability to work cross-functionally with actuarial, risk, finance and IT teams
Qualification : Qualified CA(SA)
