Job Summary
To oversee the collection, capturing, accuracy and reporting of regional waste stream data. Monitor internal reporting on client and MRF rebates. Handle all client communication and reporting with regards to waste stream data and rebate information. Manage and upskill the data department staff through training and mentoring.
Responsibilities
Management of the data department
- Oversee, coach and mentor the data department staff within your region
- Perform bi-annual performance appraisals of direct reports as per HR deadlines
- Monitor the performance of the Data Capturers and Data Administrators by checking the capturing reports, SLAs and outstanding collections on a daily basis, and raise and resolve any issues with the relevant staff
- Analyse the companys internal data collection and capturing processes and suggest improvements to these processes
- Submit a weekly team performance report, indicating where the largest delays are in our processes and suggestions on how to resolve those issues
Data collection
Ensure that capturing deadlines are met and all required data is captured and approved on the companys electronic system and within the departments deadlines (as stipulated in the departments SLA)This includes :Commercial waste stream data (including mobile data reports)
Vendor weighbridge slips (material passing through our MRFs and material traded directly on vendor / buyer premises)Commercial collectionsMRF weighbridge slips (incoming, outgoing and transferred material)Safe disposal documentsOverseeing capturing of all internal and external waste manifestsOversee the gathering and capturing of data from third-party service providers and ensure it is captured in time for client reports or by the 10th of each month (whichever comes first)Data management
Create new client entities on the companys reporting platformCreate internal waste stream and rebate reports when neededAnalyse waste stream data to track down and report discrepanciesConfigure, analyse and confirm commercial rebate reportsOversee the procurement and distribution of sorter data books (regionally)Calculate and submit the data department staffs performance bonuses by the 20th of each monthClient communication
Send out client reports according to their respective due dates and requirementsCommunicate with new clients regarding login details for new client statistics accountsRespond to clients reporting requests and queriesAttend client meetings when requiredSecondary duties
Updating Secure Office with regards to client report schedules and other important information that affect the data operationAssist with any general data-related duties as and when requiredAssist with data capturing as and when requiredIssuing of safe disposal certificates and other documentation to all clients as requiredUploading and sharing of safe disposal certificates on the online reporting platformRequirements
Minimum degree / diploma in finance, statistics, business administration or a data / information related tertiary qualificationMinimum 3 years working experience in a similar roleRelevant experience, knowledge and skillsHigh proficiency in Microsoft Office is essentialMust be well presented, professional and have excellent communications skillsAbility to travel to other branchesEmployment will be implemented in accordance with the Employment Equity Act.
