Join Lactalis SA at our Bonnievale Plant in the Laboratory department. The main responsibilities are to ensure that all samples are received as per sampling schedule and analysed according to test methodologies. Generate reports and give daily reporting to Lab Manager and production with respect to results.
Successful candidates need to have at least 2 years of experience in a chemical and / or micro laboratory within the FMCG environment. The successful candidate must also be able to demonstrate sound knowledge of food quality and full adherence to all Safety & Health policies, procedures, and legislation. Be fluent in English and be computer literate (advanced Excel skills and MS Office).
Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Advanced Diploma / BTech / BSc Food Science or related qualification / previous experience as a Junior Lab Analyst
- At least 2 years' practical experience in a chemical and / or micro laboratory

Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct chemical and micro sampling, according to work instructions.Take hand swabs and airplates in the lab and production areas to verify hygiene as per Control Plan.Ensure ATP and hygiene swabs per department are taken before every start-up.Maintain updated Floor-Maps per department for Pathogen trending.Conduct accurate tests on samples, according to work instructions.Conduct reference testing to verify the accuracy for IR equipment in the laboratory sphere.Participate in SRM (Secondary Reference Material) and PT (Proficiency Testing : Actalia, Campden, etc.).Record samples and test results accurately on data management systems.Analyze results to ensure consistency to specifications and ensure all required retesting is done timeously.Setting up, calibrating, maintaining and cleaning of laboratory equipment.Assist quality and production teams with RCAs.Participate in internal audits with respect to Food Safety protocols.Implement corrective actions for Quality Controls failure and non-conforming results.Conduct data analysis and data interpretation to implement and promote continuous improvement, corrective actions and preventative actions.Perform product releases following internal release criteria and protocols.Maintain Good Housekeeping in the Lab and outside the Lab.Maintain and promote Good Laboratory Practices with respect to ISO 17025 standards, Lactalis and WW LQMS.Adhere, participate and promote Safety & Health, Food safety, and Food Quality regulations as per Lactalis’ policies and standards.Maintain and promote FSSC 22000 standards, NOSA standards and continuous improvement.Seniority level
