Underwriting Specialist

Qualifications and Experience Required :

Minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience

Matric and NQF 4 Short-Term Insurance

RE5 is essential

COB Personal Lines will be an advantage

Microsoft Office : Word, Excel, Outlook, email

Must be FAIS Compliant / CPD up to date

Sound knowledge of domestic insurance

Experience in Commercial will be beneficial

Preference given to candidates residing in the area (East Rand)

Duties include :

Underwriting of new and existing domestic and commercial insurance policies

Needs analysis

Quoting in new business with Insurers

Processing of business and issuing policies

Endorsements, amendments and policy administration

Renewals

Retention

Personality Traits Required :

Good communication skills (both written and verbal)

Bilingual preferred but not mandatory

Good client interaction skills

Excellent organizational skills

Responsible, reliable and trustworthy person

Neat and meticulous

Must be well presented, vibrant, energetic and hardworking
