Dis-Chem Pharmacies has an opportunity available for a Store Manager for their Gauteng stores. Be responsible for the overall store profitability. Ensure compliance with the brand values of the company in all aspects in store.
Minimum Requirements
Essential :Grade 12 / MatricMinimum of 5 years’ Retail Store Management experienceComputer literate – MS OfficeWilling and able to work retail hoursAdvantageous
Diploma or Advanced Certificate in Management or BCom Degree, Retail Management Diploma or relevant Commercial qualificationMinimum 2 years’ experience in Unisolv / SAP / Qlikview. Previous experience with KronosJob Responsibilities
Assist with the Budget preparation and maintenance within the store.Allocating store funds and defining financial objectives.Maintaining statistical and financial records.Responsible for all banking functions related to the store including making bank deposits and cash handling.Optimise the store’s profitability.Participate in daily operational and sales activities to achieve customer service and business growth objectives.Oversee pricing and stock control.Ensure all expense related items are controlled and managed within budget.Ensure all expense related stock is adjusted to the correct GL accounts on a monthly basis.Ensure the ordering and monitoring of expense related items within the store.Manage total store inventory including planning, implementation, investigation and reporting on all store inventory counts.Manage daily stock ordering and maintain correct stock levels.Oversee stock takes bi-annually and manage shrinkage, stock flow to the floor and consumables expense within targets.Analyse and interpret trends to facilitate planning.Investigate negative GP values and controllable errors; verify manual purchases against the business unit.Minimise and report on dormant and negative stock; analyse dormant stock reports to investigate.Ensure physical stock balances with inventory ledger in SAP.Daily management of out-of-stock to maximise shelf availability.Manage goods in transit as directed by standard operating procedures.Ensure store achieves set sales targets, including health, beauty and FMCG.Work with heads of departments to meet targets; ensure effective promotional execution.Coordinate with other stores to share knowledge and plan promotions.Monitor market trends and forthcoming customer initiatives; assess local competitors.Determine profit and sales objectives and design strategies to maintain inventory and adherence to store policies and procedures.Propose ideas to senior management to increase market share; develop strategies to raise customer pool and store traffic.Ensure merchandisers adhere to Dis-Chem merchandising standards; plan and maintain promotional stock and displays at least 24 hours before promotions.Adhere to labeling, pricing and layout standards; approve materials and displays.Maintain store condition and visual merchandising standards; plan shop layout and customer traffic flow to maximise sales and brand image.Manage cash resources, takings, and banking in compliance with procedures; manage tender discrepancies and float balances.Monitor daily takings reconciliation to turnover; ensure transaction integrity and adherence to internal controls.Manage cashier service levels and productivity; control overtime and casual spend; sign off run ends daily.Follow cash collections procedures; minimize price overrides.Provide an above-expectation customer service experience and resolve customer problems promptly.Develop professional relationships with customers; ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and comply with SOPs.Oversee HR processes for the business unit within SOPs; recruit, train, and develop store personnel; manage performance and development plans; operate KRONOS workforce system.Deliver planned training, gather feedback, and grow employees into more senior positions.Competencies
Essential : Store retail admin and management experience related to receiving, till operations, cash office and customer service; strong English; basic financial skills (GP, mark-up, VAT); effective supplier / staff interaction; strong analytical, time management, interpersonal and communication skills; basic computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); numerical skills; SAP, UNISOLV & SuccessFactors.Advantageous
