Description

Ensure compliance with the requirements of Safety, Health and Environmental Standards and Procedures.

Maintain a clean, tidy and safe work environment, free of any spillages or obstacles.

Conduct the lubrication of plant equipment.

Ensure all areas of work are kept clean during and after work has been completed.

Perform minor repairs or replacement tasks on plant equipment as instructed.

Assist in the preparation and development of items for repair, replacement, or modification.

Removal and disposing of waste and scrap items to the designated bins.

Always ensure good housekeeping in the relevant areas.

Assist in activities according to instruction of the Mechanical Engineer, Mechanical Technician, or relevant Fitter.

Use tools and equipment provided to ensure the completion of any task.

Physically healthy and strong to work outdoors, in confined spaces, work at heights, work from ladders and scaffolding and in very hot or wet areas;

Move heavy equipment and materials;

Perform basic daily / weekly / monthly inspections on equipment in-line with the preventative maintenance schedule.

Visual inspection of machines.

Possess the ability to work without supervision and function well as part of a team.

Crane and FLT licence would be an added advantage.

Requirements

To assist the Fitters in conducting various maintenance tasks in accordance to the company standards.

Grade 12, with Maths & Science / N3 / NQF4 (Mechanical)

Minimum of five (5) years’ experience as an Artisan Aid desired.
