Junior Accountant

Junior Accountant job vacancy in Johannesburg.

We are seeking a diligent and motivated Junior Accountant to support our finance department. This entry-level position is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day financial transactions, record-keeping, and general accounting duties to ensure accurate financial control and reporting within the company.

Salary : R10,000 per month.

Key Responsibilities :

The Junior Accountant will be responsible for, but not limited to :

• Bookkeeping and Data Entry : Capturing and processing daily financial transactions, including sales invoices, purchase orders, payments, and receipts, into the accounting software (e.g., Pastel / Sage).
• Creditors and Debtors : Assisting with the management of the creditors and debtors ledgers, including reconciling statements and following up on outstanding invoices.
• Bank Reconciliations : Performing daily and monthly bank and cash reconciliations to ensure accuracy between the bank statements and the general ledger.
• Expense Management : Processing staff claims, petty cash, and corporate card expenses, ensuring compliance with internal policies.
• Administrative Support : Filing and archiving financial documentation, managing correspondence, and providing general administrative support to the Financial Manager.
• Reporting Assistance : Assisting in the preparation of month-end closing procedures and supporting documentation for management reporting.
• Inventory Support : Liaising with the operations team to reconcile inventory counts and stock valuation as required.
