Overview

This is an exciting role for a Welder you will be required to Fabricate, assemble, and repair metal structures and components using various welding techniques to ensure structural integrity and meet specifications.

We produce high-grade iron ore, the key component in steel widely used in construction and manufacturing across the world. Our activities include all aspects – exploration; mining; processing and blending; shipping; marketing and selling. In South Africa, we have mining operations in the Northern Cape province, as well as a head office in Gauteng, and a port operation in Saldanha Bay, Western Cape.

Job Description

As a Welder you will provide services as required and your responsibilities will include :

• Safety, Health, and Environment

Adhere to all health and safety practices and requirements.

Equipment Control

Ensure effective plant equipment and related machinery maintenance to maximise production and throughput schedules.

Support plant personnel by ensuring that the necessary plant and equipment maintenance preparations and maintenance tasks are done following SMP (Standard Maintenance Practice) to improve work practices and operational targets.

Assist the supervisor and co-workers according to their level / area of competence and follow company policies when instructed or during the responsible person's absence to ensure the achievement of functional objectives.

Identify and utilise on-the-job learning opportunities to achieve the required competency levels stipulated in training modules, according to budget and timeframe requirements.
