The Role : Assistant Store Manager Menlyn Park
As Assistant Store Manager, you will support the Store Manager in leading a busy, high-performing retail team. This role requires strong operational oversight, a hands-on leadership style, and a passion for motivating teams to hit sales targets while delivering top-tier customer service. You will also be expected to step up and run the store in the Store Manager's absence.
Working hours : Retail hours including weekends, public holidays, and shifts (5 working days per week with 1 guaranteed weekend off per month).
Key Responsibilities
Minimum of 3 years experience in a retail management or supervisory role
Support the Store Manager in leading and motivating the team to meet and exceed sales targets
Drive excellence in daily operations, including staff scheduling and task delegation
Monitor store KPIs and support the team in achieving individual and store goals
Handle staff coaching, performance management, and disciplinary discussions when necessary
Ensure outstanding customer service and handle escalations with professionalism
Oversee visual merchandising and ensure adherence to brand standards
Manage shrinkage, stockroom organisation, and stock control processes
Conduct opening / closing procedures and ensure compliance with all policies
About You
3+ years of experience in a similar retail leadership role (Assistant Store Manager, Floor Manager, Supervisor)
Proven ability to lead and develop a team in a busy retail environment
Confident managing team performance, conflict, and discipline
Strong KPI and target management skills
Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach
Organised, reliable, and attentive to detail
Comfortable working weekends, shifts, and public holidays
Proactive, hands-on leader who thrives under pressure
Matric required; tertiary qualification in retail or business (advantageous)
Salary and Remuneration
R13,000R15,000 basic salary per month (excluding incentives)
