.NET Engineer - intermediate (UK Offshore Tech - Private Client Lending Technology)

Overview

Investec is looking for an Intermediate .NET Engineer to join our Private Client Lending Technology team in South Africa. This role will focus on the development and support of origination applications and related integrations, with strong emphasis on C#, .NET, and Azure cloud services. You will be involved in both project delivery and business-as-usual activities, including feature development, incident resolution, and maintenance of existing services.

A good functional understanding of banking and financial services is important, as the role sits within a high-impact environment supporting lending workflows. The role requires a balance between building new solutions and supporting existing systems, with an emphasis on resilience, security, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

The ideal candidate for this role is a .NET developer with strong C# skills and hands-on Azure experience, allied to a good functional and commercial understanding of the Banking industry.

Core skills

• 3-5 years proficiency in C# and Microsoft .NET technologies (.NET Core / .NET 6+)
• Hands-on experience with Azure services (Functions, App Services, Service Bus, Logic Apps, API Management)
• Experience with Azure DevOps for CI / CD pipelines and automated deployments
• Strong relational database skills (SQL Server), including query writing and schema design
• Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs
• Familiarity with software testing practices (unit and integration tests)
• Awareness of and commitment to security best practices in software development
• Ability to work effectively in Agile delivery teams
