About the Job :
The Tax Consultant will need to be proactive in all aspects of tax consulting and complianceKey Job Duties and Responsibilities :
Involvement in consulting and advising clients on a wide range of individual tax and employees’ tax issues, including the taxation of globally mobile employees (both resident and non-resident in South Africa), share incentive schemes, trust related taxation, estate duties, labour law aspects of globally mobile employees, the employment tax incentive and application of Double Taxation Agreements.Assisting with local payroll employees’ tax reviews, health checks and auditsParticipating as a member of engagement teams to deliver tax consulting services to international assignees, individual taxpayers and employersProducing accurate work to a high technical standard, including preparation of calculations (where required), drafting of opinions and reportsInterpretation and application of legislation, double taxation agreements, employment contracts, share scheme rules, theoretical knowledge and practical experiencePrioritisation of workload and meeting required deadlinesContribute effectively to the discussions around work and actively participate in generating creative ideas and thoughtsAdapt to a changing work environment and accommodate changing client demandsFacilitate teamwork by sharing knowledge with others on a regular basis and actively asking questions in order to achieve personal and work goalsAssisting managers with drafting of billing and monthly financial reportingKeeping accurate record of time spent on tasksSkills & Attributes Required :

BCom Law, LLB, and preferably a qualified attorneyHDip (Tax) or similar - beneficialA minimum of 3 years’ experience in Legal Interpretation – experience with Expatriate Tax, interpretation of Double Taxation Agreements, Share Schemes, Labour Law, Exchange Control regulations, trust related taxation, Estate Duties, the Employment Tax Incentive and Employees’ Tax will be beneficialCurrent SAIT or other Regulatory Controlling Body membershipActive SARS Tax Practitioner membership will be beneficialSQL and / or data analytics qualifications and / or experience will be beneficialAccounting / Financial Services jobs
