Reporting To : Deputy Municipal Police Commissioner (Licence Vehicle Test & Fin)

Location : Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa

Special Conditions : Working knowledge of traffic law enforcement computer systems / NRTA and Municipal Bylaws and Criminal Act.

Clerk of Court appointment upon confirmation of appointment.

Job Purpose : To manage the key performance areas associated with Prosecutions, Court Processes and Disciplinary Matters on behalf of the Durban Metropolitan Police Services Fines Processing, Licencing and Test Centre Division and render a Legal Support Service to the same on a daily basis.

Key Responsibility Areas : Manage Traffic Prosecutions (across all Regions) by updating all applicable legislation immediately upon receipt of any amendments and informing Commanding Officers of such amendments for implementation.Ensure that the fines system is updated continuously.Stay abreast with statutory changes by identifying amendments impacting the Department and diarising dates on which amendments come into operation.Ensure adherence to general legal requirements applicable to current legislation and facilitate corrective measures for non-compliancemunicate with Regional Commanders regarding changes affecting legislation and its impact on law enforcement, providing correct statutory references and corresponding offence descriptions for implementation.Prepare applications for the determination of Admission of Guilt fine amounts in light of current and new legislation and discuss with the Chief Magistrate / Durban and / or Magistrate of the relevant district.Assist the Systems Controller by identifying inaccuracies, irregularities or defective legal documents, verifying existing charge sheets and recommending corrective measures.Co-ordinate all court representations-processes and communicate with the Department of Justice Officials and internal Management on relevant issues.Co-ordinate all internal disciplinary grievance matters by providing technical support to various role-players.Minimum Requirements : Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Administration or any related equivalent qualification.Valid motor vehicle driving license.3 Years relevant experienceputer Literacy.Preferred Requirements : Degree (NQF Level 7) in Administration or any related equivalent qualification.4 Years relevant experience.Benefits : Housing Subsidy : YesLeave : YesMedical Aid : YesOther Allowances : NONEPension Fund : YesRemuneration : R .64 - R .12 per Annum13th Cheque : YesContact Information : Contact Name : HC CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE
