Job descriptionDrawing for Design Drawing for Design (Object and Figure drawing) Fundamental Two-dimensional Design (Printmaking and Painting) Fundamental Two-dimensional Design (Surface Design) Fundamental Three-dimensional Design (Ceramics and Sculpture) Fundamental Three-dimensional Design (Communication and Design Techniques) Studio Practice (Textile and Styling) Success and Life Skills History of Art and Design Studio Practice (Fabrication) Studio Practice (Digital Imaging) The format of lectures can be expected to be face-to-face, via remote teaching, or a combination / hybrid format. Facilitation and assessment formats will be subject to change on short notice. Lecturers will be expected to have their own laptop computer. Successful applicants will be required to lecture on the relevant CUT campus and will be required to be available at the assigned subject’s scheduled class hours, which may include work in the day and / or evening. An appropriate B. Tech / Advanced Diploma / Postgraduate Diploma, Honours, Master’s or Doctorate degree (depending on the level of presentation). Previous lecturing experience will serve as a recommendation. Experience with electronic education (Blackboard) is recommended. A degree in Psychology is required for “Success and Life Skills”.

Remuneration
The hourly rate of payment depends on the part-time lecturer’s qualifications and experience.
2025 rates : Junior Lecturer R 278 per hour; Lecturer R 341 per hour; Senior Lecturer R 417 per hour; Prof / Prof R 571 per hour.
