Job description

A leading governance institute is seeking a Corporate Governance Research Manager to advance the organisation’s governance insights, research, and thought leadership initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Research & Forums Management

  • Manage governance forums, research working groups, and projects from inception to completion.
  • Oversee project timelines, stakeholder communication, and deliverables to meet strategic objectives.
  • Ensure coordination and knowledge‑sharing across working groups to prevent duplication and enhance collaboration.
  • Maintain governance research databases and oversee publication pipelines.

Thought Leadership & Publications

  • Project‑manage and contribute to technical publications, guidance notes, and governance papers.
  • Draft thought leadership content aligned with corporate governance best practices and emerging trends.
  • Oversee quarterly governance newsletters, FAQs, case law summaries, and technical communications to members.
  • Collaborate on events and webinars, identifying topics and speakers to enhance member engagement.
  • Advocacy & Advisory Support

  • Stay informed of legislative, regulatory, and governance developments.
  • Draft and disseminate updates and alerts for members on key governance changes.
  • Provide expert responses to member queries on the King IV Report, Companies Act, and governance best practice.
  • Reporting & Administration

  • Prepare monthly reports, forecasts, and budgets against business plan targets.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of projects, publications, and stakeholder engagements.
  • Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent qualification in Corporate Governance, Business, or Project Management.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a governance, legal, company secretarial, or corporate advisory environment.
  • Proven experience in research, drafting publications, or policy content for directors or senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent knowledge of Corporate Law, Companies Act, and King Codes advantageous.
  • Admitted Attorney or Company Secretarial experience beneficial.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office, Teams, and Project Management skills required.
