Accountant

A well-established organisation within a dynamic, lifestyle-driven industry is seeking a Junior Accountant to join its finance team in the Lethabong area (East Rand, Johannesburg). This opportunity would suit a detail-oriented accounting professional who has completed formal articles and is looking to grow within a structured finance environment.
While an interest in the golf industry would be advantageous from a culture-fit perspective, it is not a requirement for the role.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

• Preparation and maintenance of trial balances
• Processing and reviewing journals
• General ledger reconciliations
• Assisting with monthly management accounts
• Supporting year-end audit processes
• Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
• Assisting with payroll-related accounting functions (beneficial)
• Ad hoc finance and accounting support as required

Minimum Requirements:

• Completion of SAIPA or CIMA articles
• A relevant accounting qualification, such as:
  
  • BCom Accounting
  • BCompt
  • BAcc
  • Equivalent SA-recognised accounting degree
• Proven accounting experience post-articles or during articles
• Hands-on experience with trial balance preparation and journal entries
• Working knowledge of Xero accounting software
• South African accounting and reporting exposure

Beneficial Experience:

• Payroll accounting exposure
• Experience in a commercial or retail environment
