Job Summary
The Financial Manager is responsible for overseeing all financial activities, ensuring the financial health of the organisation, and providing strategic guidance to senior management.This role involves managing financial planning, reporting, budgeting, compliance functions, working capital, process optimisation, internal controls, pricing strategies, and production cost monitoring to optimise financial performance.Responsibilities and Duties
Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with business goalsConduct financial analysis and modelling to assess risks and opportunitiesPrepare and present financial forecasts and reports to senior managementAssist the Finance Executive and lead the annual budgeting process with input from department headsMonitor budget performance and provide variance analysis with recommendationsRevise forecasts to reflect changing business conditionsEnsure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annual)Oversee financial report consolidation across business unitsMaintain compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirementsManage cash flow and ensure adequate liquidity for operationsDevelop cash flow forecasts and optimise working capitalMonitor receivables, payables, and inventory to improve cash cyclesIdentify financial risks and implement mitigation strategiesEnsure adherence to internal controls, policies, and regulationsCoordinate and support internal and external auditsManage capital expenditure projects in line with strategic goalsMonitor ROI and performance of key investmentsDevelop and manage competitive, profit-focused pricing strategiesEnsure pricing accuracy and maintain pricing controlsDevelop and maintain cost control systems and procedures to monitor organisational expenditureAnalyse operational and overhead costs to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvementsEnsure cost allocations are accurate and aligned with business activitiesReview and enhance financial processes for efficiency and accuracyImplement best practices and innovative solutions across teamsDesign, implement, and update internal control systemsTrain staff on control procedures and ensure complianceLead and mentor the finance team to drive continuous improvementConduct performance reviews and support professional developmentCommunicate financial insights to non-financial stakeholdersPrepare board presentations and align finance with organisational goalsQualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related fieldProfessional certification (CA(SA))5 – 7 years’ experience in a financial management roleExtensive knowledge of financial management principles and practicesUnderstanding of the industry and its financial dynamicsFamiliarity with financial regulations, compliance standards and risk managementProficiency in financial software and toolsStrong leadership and team management skillsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsEffective communication and interpersonal skillsStrategic thinking and ability to influence decision makingHigh attention to detail and organisational skillsBilingual (Afrikaans and English) (advantageous)Valid Driver’s License (Code 08)Willing to travelClosing Date 21 November 2025
