Job description

REQUIREMENTS

  • Gr 12 with relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Proven experience in any CAD software, with SolidWorks experience advantageous
  • A practical mindset focused on how things are built, powered, maintained and function
  • Retail display or experiential product design experience advantageous
  • Supplier and manufacturer collaboration experience advantageous
  • Hands-on experience in electro-mechanical integration including lighting (LED), power systems (lithium battery) and embedded components (screens, controllers, etc)
  • Ability to communicate design intent clearly through CAD models and engineering drawings
  • Bonus : Ability to produce high-fidelity 3D renders or animations
  • Portfolio supporting real-world CAD designs with working electro-mechanical integration

DUTIES

  • Develop accurate, production-ready CAD designs in any engineering-grade CAD platform (SolidWorks, Rhino, Fusion 360, Inventor, etc.)
  • Specify and test power systems (Li-ion, mains, drivers, regulators)
  • Design and validate LED lighting setups, including animated / controlled configurations
  • Specify and integrate digital hardware (LED screens, controllers, media players)
  • Prototype and bench test assemblies to ensure performance, safety, and durability
  • Collaborate with suppliers and fabricators to deliver production-ready solutions
  • 3D rendering for client viewing before commencing manufacturing
