The Role

We are seeking an experienced Part-Time Finance Manager to oversee all day-to-day transactional finance operations for MarkJames Search. This role is fully remote and ideal for a hands‑on finance professional looking for flexible working arrangements while supporting a dynamic, international recruitment business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare and process supplier invoices, staff reimbursements, and client billing.
  • Oversee cash flow management and ensure accurate record‑keeping of all transactions.
  • Maintain and update accounting records in QuickBooks Online.
  • Support payroll processing and ensure compliance with local tax and financial regulations.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, P&L statements, and financial summaries for leadership review.
  • Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors as needed.
  • Implement and maintain internal financial controls and reporting procedures.
  • Support ad‑hoc financial projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a finance or accounting role.
  • Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online (essential).
  • Proven experience managing day‑to‑day transactional finance independently.
  • Relevant finance or accounting qualification (e.g., BCom, CIMA, ACCA, SAIPA, or equivalent).
  • Experience within a recruitment or professional services business is highly advantageous but not essential.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
